Muay Thai History

Muay Thai, as known in the West Side as Thai Boxe, is a martial art which evolved during the years in a modern combat sport.

Once practiced only in Thailand, strictly by warriors and then by professional fighters, nowdays is popular all over the world.

Both men and women practice Muay Thai since youth, and it provides for professional and amateur fights, whereas other practice it only to keep fit.

Finally someone only watch fights on TV or on streaming.

Matches are played in a ring, with boxing glove type, so that someone can confuse Muay Thay with Kickboxing. But unlike the latter, Muay Thai has more skills, specially about knee and elbow shots



About Muay Thai

As the name suggests, Muay Thai, as known in the West Side as Thai Boxe, is a traditional martial art and a combat sport, born in the old reign of Siam, the modern Thailand.

It has a wide range of skills, shoot with legs and arms. Indeed, this discipline is known as “eight weapons art” or “eight limbs science”, because it allows to use punches, kicks, elbows and knees, so eight parts of the body.

Original Muay Thai became popular in the XVI(Sixteen)th century at home, but it spread worldwide only in the ‘900, after some regulatory changes and when some thai fighters successufully confronted with representatives of various martial arts
